Artist's Statement:
The lights dim, the mood is set, and the drum-and-cymbal rhythm begins filling your ears. Colored lights stream down toward the stage and immerse the female singer as she hits the first melodic note of this night full of jazz. You are caught away...

2004: Created as an album cover for Dana
LeBlanc's CD "Just Me." Created first with an ink drawing that
was scanned into the computer and digitally colored.
2007: Created a postcard with the image
repeating with different outline colors. This had the text "Los
Angeles Collection" across the top.
2007: Merchandise
displaying the Jazz image produced.
2011, July 23rd: Image based on this
illustration is replicated in
chalk at the Italian Street Painting Festival, Corona, CA.
2011, September 7th: Definitive painting completed.
2011, September 8th: Displayed as part of the JUNCTION show.
Notes:
An important illustration because this was the very first
experiment in the new style back in 2004. At that time I did not expect to
change my style, I was only coming up with a flashy cover for a CD.
