Artist's Statement: A pair of sandals takes to flight into the clear blue sky, calling you to get away, take a holiday, plan a vacation or otherwise vacate the stresses of your hectic life. Painting Including Frame: Presentation: This image has had three lives. See "History/Exhibitions" below. The final and definitive work is an acrylic painting on wood with a polyurethane clear coat sprayed over it. The print run of this image was produced from ink drawings on three separate pages, scanned into the computer, assembled and colored digitally. There were no colors used in this work from the official palette. History/Exhibitions: 2007, September ?: Creation. 2007, September 20th: 100 signed and numbered, limited edition prints created. 2007, September ?: Merchandise displaying the Vacate image produced. 2010, July 24th: Image replicated in chalk at the Italian Street Painting Festival, Corona, CA. 2011, August 18th: Definitive painting completed. 2011, September 8th: Displayed as part of the JUNCTION show. A key illustration in the early evolution of the L.HUNT branded style. This was also the very first painting produced in that style. "Vacate" photo album is located here.
